An account is optional. You can make your calendar file either way.
DraftMySchedule can't send your timetable to a calendar app. Slotted turns it into calendar events for the whole term, so you never have to type a class in by hand.
Example: a DraftMySchedule class list (Math, English, Chemistry, Biology and History, with days, times and rooms) becomes weekly events in your calendar app.

Which calendar app do you use?
The file you'll download works in all of them. Picking yours means the last page shows the exact steps for adding your classes to it.
Save your schedule from DraftMySchedule
Slotted needs one file: your DraftMySchedule page, saved from your browser. It takes about a minute: four quick steps. Tick each one off as you go.
-
Sign in with your Western account. Use a laptop or desktop: phones can't easily save a whole web page.
-
After you sign in, DraftMySchedule opens on Build Future Draft. That page is for planning drafts, not the classes you're registered in, so switch to My Current Schedule.
-
Stay on My Current Schedule; there's no need to scroll or click anything else. Saving keeps the whole page, including the class list Slotted reads.
Press Ctrl + S, set the format to Webpage, HTML Only, then click Save.
Steps for other browsers
- Chrome or Edge: Ctrl + S (⌘ + S on a Mac), set the format to Webpage, HTML Only, then Save.
- Safari: choose File → Save As…, set Format to Page Source, then Save.
- Firefox: Ctrl + S (⌘ + S on a Mac), choose Web Page, HTML only, then Save.
Save the page itself, not DraftMySchedule's PDF. The PDF doesn't keep the rooms and times in a form Slotted can read.
-
It's usually in your Downloads folder, named The University of Western Ontario.html.

Your calendar file is ready
Keep your calendar up to date automatically
Instead of importing the file, you can subscribe your calendar app to a private link. Your app then checks the link every few hours, so if you update your schedule here later, your calendar updates by itself.
Use either the file or the link, not both, or every class will show up twice.
Anyone with this link can see your class schedule, so only paste it into your own calendar app.
On a Mac or iPhone, this opens Calendar and asks to subscribe. Or in Calendar on a Mac, choose File → New Calendar Subscription and paste the link.
- On a computer, go to calendar.google.com.
- Next to Other calendars on the left, click +, then From URL.
- Paste the link and click Add calendar. Google can take several hours to show changes you make later.
- In Outlook on the web, open Calendar and choose Add calendar.
- Choose Subscribe from web, paste the link, give it a name, and click Import.
- In your calendar app, look for Subscribe, Add calendar from URL or Internet calendar.
- Paste the link. The app keeps it updated on its own.
Making a new link stops the old one working, for example if you shared it by mistake.
With an account, Slotted saves this schedule and can give you a calendar link that updates by itself when your schedule changes.
Add it to your calendar
- Open the file. On a Mac, double-click it in Downloads. On an iPhone or iPad, tap it in the Files app or in your downloads.
- Choose where the classes go. On a Mac, pick New Calendar so your classes have their own calendar you can hide, recolour or remove in one go. On iPhone or iPad, tap Add All.
- That's it. With iCloud turned on, your classes appear on your other Apple devices automatically.
- On a computer, go to calendar.google.com. Google only imports files on a computer; afterwards your classes show up on your phone too.
- Make a calendar just for classes. Go to Settings → Add calendar → Create new calendar and name it something like “Western Classes”. Google can't undo an import, so a separate calendar lets you delete all the classes in one step if you ever need to.
- Import the file. Go to Settings → Import & export, select the downloaded file, choose your new calendar, then click Import.
- Turn on reminders (optional). Open your new calendar's settings and add an Event notification, for example 10 minutes before.
- Outlook on the web: open Calendar, choose Add calendar → Upload from file, select the downloaded file, choose a calendar, then click Import.
- Outlook on Windows or Mac: double-click the downloaded file and Outlook will offer to import the events. Choose a calendar for them.
- The reminder you picked is included and works in Outlook.
- Open the file with your calendar app, or look for an Import option in its settings or menu.
- If it asks where to put the events, choose a new, separate calendar, so your classes can be hidden or removed together later.
- The file uses the standard iCalendar (.ics) format, which almost every calendar app supports.
Something not right? Compare a few classes with DraftMySchedule. If your schedule changes later, come back and make a new file.
